Last week I stopped by Zara to try some of their Fall 2011 collection. While their lookbook is amazingly styled, I didn't really love what I saw online and I didn't have very high expectations when I went into the store. I saw the basic fall trends on display: some colorblocking, polka dots, and metallics with stripes. I tried on 3 blouses, a print skirt, and low waisted trousers. Unfortunately, I definitely struck out 0/5. A lot of the blouses were really boxy and when I tried to tuck them, they looked fine on the side but were still way to voluminous from the front.
i'm going to send the last pic to my mom and tell her i'm 6 months pregnant and just haven't told her. then she'll disown me for not really being pregnant.

Overall a disappointing Zara trip which is sad because I usually adore everything in there. Maybe I need to try again and not go for the trendy items but stick to that Zara Basic items.
Are there any cute Zara items currently in store that you love or think I should try???
Edit: Heather from HK Style Journey commented that she was coveting a pink blazer from Zara so while shopping with my cousin I popped back in to see what I could find.
I wasn't sure which pink blazer Heather was referring to but I think it might have been this Turn Back Cuff Blazer. Unfortunately the only pink blazer I could find in the store was one from their TRF collection. This Pique Blazer is cropped to hip level and has cute zipper details at the pockets. As always, Zara's blazers are impeccably fitted and it was incredibly flattering (IMHO). It even had a cute fabric button that matched my necklace perfectly!
Unfortunately, as Bravoe Runway mentioned, Zara can take quite a hit on your wallet, so this piece was a little too pricey to pick up at full price. However, my cousin and I did spend a good 5 minutes staring at me in the mirror debating it before walking away. Maybe Heather will pick it up though! ;-)
